Kataloor Light House
Kadaloor Point Lighthouse is one of the two lighthouses currently operating in Kozhikode district. It is also known as Thikkodi Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located on Otokunnu, half a kilometer west of Nandi Bazaar on the Kannur-Kozhikode National Highway. The current height of the lighthouse is 34 meters. The pillar is circular. It is made entirely of granite. Since a flash of light lasts for five seconds, people at sea can identify this area even from a distance of 40 nautical miles. This lighthouse came into use on October 20, 1909. Metal halide lamps are used as the light source.
Admission
Entry is open every day from 3 pm to 5 pm. The ticket price is Rs. 5 for children and Rs. 10 for adults. The view of Velliangkallu, which is a tourist attraction, can be seen from the lighthouse.
